Webnet Evo nominated for design award
The new Webnet Evo mesh structure has been nominated for the Design Prize Switzerland. As a further development of Webnet, the new product will soon be available to our customers.
The Webnet is one of our most versatile products. Our customers appreciate the flexible and transparent stainless steel net for its design possibilities and durability. Webnet is used in a wide variety of architectural projects around the world: as railing infill, as a climbing aid for plants, as a large-scale safety net or in the construction of animal enclosures.
We will shortly be introducing Webnet Evo. A new product that is a further development of Webnet. This enables more lively mesh structures that achieve new aesthetic effects. The creative mind behind Webnet Evo is our civil engineer Dorothea Drayer. She has investigated the question of how the previous Webnet net design can be changed without compromising its function.
By regularly changing the spacing between the sleeves, Dorothea Drayer created a variety of visually interesting net structures. Based on this method, Jakob Rope Systems is now launching several new net designs that will appear under the name Webnet Evo.
Even before its market launch, Webnet Evo was nominated for the Design Prize Switzerland 2021 in the textiles category. The prize honours Swiss designers, companies, institutions and producers who are active in Switzerland or abroad. Products, projects, services and concepts from economically relevant design disciplines are awarded.
The new Webnet Evo was judged by the nominators of the Design Prize Switzerland with these words: “What is particularly remarkable, however, is the cleverly devised method, located between design and technology, on the basis of which the net variants were created. It holds great design potential.”
